Making sense of what our brains are doing during a Feldenkrais lesson.

The "Coordination Cascade" illustrates how Feldenkrais lessons refine the functioning of our nervous system—at every level! From the prefrontal cortex to the spinal cord and the muscles, Feldenkrais lessons offer us a means of learning nimble movement, keen body perception, and refined self-awareness.

By turning the Coordination Cascade on its head, we begin with the most concrete experience: what the muscles are doing every time we move. Then, we work our way up. One step at a time; from the spinal cord to the brain stem, the basal ganglia, the limbic system, the sensory and motor cortex. Finally, that part of the brain that enables us to change our minds, muscles and emotions, and fires up our curiosity, comes into sharp focus: the prefrontal cortex.

When we slow down, inform ourselves and engage our attention, we discover dexterity of moving, learning and thinking.

This series will make that crystal clear, comprehensible and immediately useful!
