Teaching and Understanding the Feldenkrais Method: Three Kinds of Skills

A talk with Feldenkrais Training Academy Educational Director Jeff Haller, PhD, and Trainer Roger Russell

Saturday, September 19, 9:30–11:30am PT
Online via Feldenkrais First

Curious about becoming a Feldenkrais Practitioner? Join us for a series of free online discussions with Educational Director Jeff Haller and Trainer Roger Russell about the Feldenkrais Training Academy 2, the practitioner training program beginning in Seattle in July 2027. We'll discuss what it’s like to be a Feldenkrais Practitioner, applications of the Feldenkrais Method, training curriculum, case studies, and other related topics.

These informal conversations are a great way to get to know FTA2 staff and your potential co-trainees. Recordings will be available.

September 19: Teaching and Understanding the Feldenkrais Method—Three Kinds of Skills

Moshe Feldenkrais began his book Awareness through Movement with these words: “We act in accordance with our self-image.” He later followed up with: “Systematic correction of the image is more useful than correction of single actions.”

The Feldenkrais Training Academy delivers three key professional skills that empower every participant to systematically practice and explain the Feldenkrais Method:

  • The capacity to personally develop—through experience—teaching skills of Awareness Through Movement® and Functional Integration®.
  • A knowledge base for understanding how Feldenkrais lessons are so surprisingly effective.
  • Meta-thinking skills for coherently interweaving practice and explanation into applications in any field that addresses human development.

We’ll discuss how each participant discovers an individual path towards professional proficiency, and we’ll answer your questions.

Talks are online via Zoom on the Feldenkrais First app; sign up for your free membership to register!
